Why should anyone but the person engaging in the sexual act pay for the contraception? If the answer is because the consequences are more of a burden then that is called blackmail.

I guess asking women to close their legs is too much to ask. If a woman can't figure out how to obtain contraceptives, then that woman and the man involved should be neutered or otherwise rendered incapable of engaging in the act.

Leave it to liberals to figure out a way to blame other for their inability to obtain contraception without getting others to pay for it.

You realize that women do pay for birth control when it's covered under their insurance....copays & deductibles come to mind.

Bosses and/or co workers try inappropriate touching and intimidation?- no recourse.

Good in sports? Forget getting a college scholarship for your talents.

Wanting to pursue medical school or many other professional careers? Forget scholarships or fair minded professors or even decent employment opportunities once you graduate.

Single and want to buy a car or a home? Forget it unless Daddy co signs the loan no matter how much money you make or have.

Single and want to get dependable birth control? Forget it cause doctors wouldn't give rx for BC to single women. Nor would they insert IUDs. Condoms still aren't available in most women's bathrooms.

Want a safe and legal way to terminate an unwanted or dangerous pregnancy? Forget it-for both single and married women.

Married and want a divorce for all sorts of reasons? Deadbeat Dads had nothing to fear when they didn't pay child support. Divorced women were discriminated against in housing. Throw a few kids in there and it was really impossible. The alternative? Pop valium all day long and hope to die.

Married with kids and want to work outside the home? "NO wife of mine will ever get a job!" echoed throughout the land.

Once these rights are taken away from today's young women they may begin to rally and see how much they stand to forfeit and start getting to work. You and I are tired. We did our part and we tried to educate our younger sisters and daughters and granddaughters. Now its up to them and their enlightened male friends and relatives.
Yup remember it all oh so well, few understand the rights they now enjoy that are being chipped away at will continue to disappear if something isn't done soon. Hopefully they will wake up sooner rather than later.

What few understand is this is just the first opening shot- I wonder what will happen to those companies who are owned by Jehovah Witnesses - blood transfusions and dialysis , Scientologists - antidepressants and any form of mental health care, then there's christian scientists, the list is long and anyone could form a "church" and a private company and declare they are against xyz. I think when this happens to non-specific gender items then we might finally hear outrage.

The arugment is about companies having to pay for the contraception through selected insurance. Why should anyone else have to give you a choice when you already have a choice on where to work or dig into your own pocket to pay for your own contraception?

Every time you eliminate a consequence for undesirable behavior what happens is that behavior becomes prevalent.

Can't manage your own sexual behavior? No problem, get others to pay for your contraception.

Can't figure out or want to use the contraception others pay for? No problem, others will pay for your abortion.

Can't figure out or don't the abortion? No problem, other will pay for the delivery of the baby.

Can't figure out or don't want to finance the raising of the child? No problem, others will pay to educate, feed, clothe and provide everything else for it and you too.

Basically, you can't figure out life so make someone else do it for you.

So what we have here is an argument between a "conservative" who sees everything through a filter based on religious and/or nationalistic absolutes,

vs. a supposed "liberal" (but likely calling herself a "progressive" nowadays) who immediately resorts to stereotyping that would immediately draw the wrath of the Politically Correct, if and only if it were directed at the opposite side of our present polarization.

This kind of thinking is so wrong-headed that I don't even know where to start.

Your point in this discussion doesn't appear to be to learn anything new, but rather to bash liberals for some unknown reason. You seem to be under the belief that all the liberals / progressives are getting every thing for free, while you are somehow left holding the bill. These were EMPLOYEE benefits. Part of your compensation for WORKING there.

Back on topic, Hobby Lobby may have made a huge financial mistake here. Most of it's customers are women.

Let's hope so. Smart women know what this is all about. I have faith they will vote with their purses and feet.
