I came across this article on the web this morning. While Mr. Beck is a highly controversial figure in his politically charged media role, could it be that he actually is wanting to help? Or do you feel this is a media ploy to sell tickets? He mentions in the article, that people tell him he's losing members on his website, and losing donation money. Does this mean that's an important decision making step for Glenn? One that has to be guided by membership to his campaign, or do you feel like this is genuine?
I don't know the answer. What I do know is this will just give others an opportunity to slur Mr Beck. It is a very controversial topic, but I suppose because many responses will be against Beck, it is acceptable.

That's the problem I've noticed about stardom. Once you become a high profile figure, everything you do can be labeled as some sort of ploy for more fame and/or gain of some sort even if your intentions are genuine.
This idea is no different when you see politicians smoozing with 'common folk' in a common folk setting such as a bar or restaurant. The politician is just trying to relate with the common person, but secretly (or out in the open) they are doing it for votes. On non-election years, will you see this same politician hanging out in a dive bar drinking a beer? Probably not.

I agree, no matter how a celebrity chooses to spread their charity around, there's always going to be opposition to their stances. Maybe I'm reading too much into his statements about how it's affecting his "numbers"..

i listened to his radio show briefly until he lost it. the guy is kind of an emotional basketcase. i heard hannity yesterday talk about what beck is doing he he also said the crap about caring about the kids and having a heart. with hannity, its a bunch of nonsense he says to make himself feel good about himself. with beck, its because he sometimes loses control of his emotions.
