Which states will legalize pot next?

Interesting article...they seem to think legalization could eventually happen nationwide. I tend to think it would never happen in any state east of the Rocky Mountains & South of the Mason-Dixon line/Ohio River.

I get the very bad feeling it will never pass in Wisconsin either. Sigh.

why not? the most powerful forces against legalization are the police, corrections officers, lawyers, judges, etc. its not the bible thumpers that are stopping it.

Possession of less that 10 grams of cannabis goes from arrest to citation offense in Maryland on the first of October.

IMHO, laws against marijuana are stupid. I don't smoke it, and I will not smoke it if it's legalized, but the idea of a plant being illegal is crazy to me.

I can see Maine legalizing marijuana in the near future, it is less harmful than alcohol and creates less social ills, when actual facts are considered marijuana prohibition makes no sense.

I understand America (a country) has 50 states, they call them United, then why does each of them have their own rules?

A slightly better comparison might be to think of each state as a country, and the United States as the EU. Still not accurate, but maybe easier to understand.

I know there are some people here in CA who are against it, because they're concerned about the impact on the medical marijuana industry.

Good political cartoon up here has Washington State pot stores running out of seed, and Marc Emery (Hemp BC) being finally released from federal custody USA for selling pot seeds online.

The USA federal level had him doing 80% of his five year sentence.
Sheeeesh.
