He was a tortured soul, in and out of addiction treatment for years. I can't say I was surprised at the news.
He talked a lot about his experiences in rehab, in his comedy routines. Even so, I never imagined his problems were that serious, I thought he was on the mend. I wonder what was behind his drug use and the suicide? There must have been a root cause for the tortured soul thing.
I don't know what to say.. What is this anyway? A freaking epidemic? Everyone just gets 'pissed' and ends it? Christ!
RW was very talented. ( I just don't get this and realize it's been going on for centuries and I do understand addiction, and the grip of addiction) but I am seriously tired of people just wasting their lives. Sad.
Don't say things like this, please.
Depression is a real disease and yes, it can lead to death.
It's like getting angry at a cancer patient for not fighting harder. Maybe it gives you something tangible to rant against, but all it does is cause pain for people in the same position.

He didn't have cancer... but whatever. I've dealt with depression and suicide-- so, what what are you trying to enlighten me about? So, he just blows it away and that is suppose to be okay? The answer is "no". Do I understand the word 'illness'? Of-course...

Well said. Depression is a physical illness as much as is diabetes, heart disease, and so on. Until society believes that, the stigma around mental illness will never really go away.
I am very sad to hear of RW's passing. May he rest in peace. He was truly a brilliant actor, comedian but had a tortured soul.
