Please, putting an Uzi in the hands of a 60 pound 9yr old girl who never touched a gun before and not knowing it will end badly is no accident.

It wasn't on purpose but you can't call it an accident either.

It was an act of stupidity with dire results.

The range has been re-opened and the owner said some pretty obnoxious things about people who are just "haters" because they don't agree with allowing a small child to shoot an Uzi.

I just saw him on the news, he is a little long in the tooth to be using the word "hater"(IMO, morons use that term because they don't realize people are allowed to have different views), it also takes away from the death of his employee. Who seemed like a nice guy.

If he had any class he would chosen his words better.

This is a sad story but thanks to this instructor's sacrifice the world knows now that teaching a nine year old to kill on the very first try with a gun is child's play. It should be an important lesson as to why we need weapons handling classes from kindergarten.

I hope the parents sue the school district for failing to educate their child.

But who knows, maybe the parents thought guns wouldn't kill and would pop a feather to tickle their daughter pink. After all a gun at a govt licensed and regulated establishment surely ought to have better manners than one in the hood.

Some people want all big entities held accountable and bludgeoned to death by lawsuits. But not the precious gun manufacturers.

If anything he has the most culpability and the greatest responsibility to insure everyone's safety, including his own. He could have refused to let her shoot it, or at least helped to hold and stabilize it when she went to fire.
I feel bad for the guy and his family, but we live in a far too litigious society as it is. When people can start suing for their own stupidity, that is beyond the pale.

Driving a car would not be safe. She should start with an army tank.
