Am I the only one NOT happy with this? That dude is pretty unstable and I'd rather not be nuked because we decided to play along with this chess game as opposed to walking away from the board.
Rather lose the battle if it means it does NOT start a war.
Holy crap, could you imagine if Armageddon was started by James Franco and Seth Rogan?! Society truly has gone the direction of the movie Idiocracy.
Actually their infrastructure is fairly primitive, not nearly as reliant on remote sensing, switching and control as we are (when you have millions living in poverty it's pretty easy to find a warm body to flip switches rather than have a computer do it), so in fact they are quite a bit less dependant on technology based operations.
So where does that leave us John Wayne?
Where any country that chooses Freedom, Capitalism, and Individualism should be: The top! While the North Koreas and Narcotocracies and Third World Theocracies languish where they belong: the Bottom! Natural selection at work, and working exactly as you would expect. Reality is a funny thing. And when our behavior and thinking is rational and consonant, we succeed. And when it is dissonant and mystical, we fail.

I see this as nothing more than a distraction from the real issues that face this country. I'm more willing to believe that Sony's problems came from lax IT security than anything having to do with N. Korea. Certainly Sony's senior management doesn't inspire much confidence in how the company is being run.
It's a shame this is what the President focuses on, especially since there has been absolutely no proof given that the DPRK was involved. There are some real problems that do face the USA which Obama is ill equipped to deal with, so we get more of the clown show. And of course, the US media is right there carrying all the water they can for him.

I could see them shutting down their own system if outside hackers were to tear down any barriers to the N Korean people to access anything they want outside their country.
That would be something the NK Government would never abide with.
^^^this. It's at least as likely as the other more malevolent explanations.

Wouldn't that be amusing? You have to laugh or you'll cry.
