It's not sunk, even the link you provided says so. The game will be revamped and most likely return in early 2015.

I played it a few times. The thing that lured me to it was that a number of people spread throughout the country could be millionaires from one drawing.

I do think $5 was steep. If it went down to $3 for 'three' chances to win, more people would play.
