it is a money making scam, fly closer together, fly more planes, make more money.

they dont care about the people.....it is a money making scam....
Nooooooooooooo... really? You've concluded that commercial aviation is a for-profit business venture, and not a non-profit charity?

And here's a clue - no industry can eliminate lethal risk. But commercial aviation has ratcheted down the danger of flying commercial to well below that of highway travel. That's not a 'scam', it's just ordinary business.

Only 3 bodies have been recovered so far (and not 40). Also the communications log suggests that the pilot was approved to veer left because of poor weather conditions. He then asked air traffic control for permission to climb to 38,000 feet from 32,000. There was no further communication after that.

A friend of mine's daughter is in Malaysia, on a break between HS and college. I was really surprised my friend allowed a Malaysia trip, in view of the flight 370 thing.

It seems like one of the victims was found with a life jacket on.

I agree Kathryn, I'd rather they had no knowledge of what was happening. My heart breaks for these people. This may be a ridiculous thought, but could someone be alive in the water?

I feel for everyone affected...

At least now they have some hope of discovering exactly what happened. That's faint consolation to the friends and families of those unfortunate enough to be on the plane, though.

A very remote possibility, and would depend on how the aircraft went into the water. If the plane was ditched/belly landed in the sea, then some could have survived and made it into the water. But if it went in nose first, probably not. Hitting water is pretty close to hitting concrete. It's also possible the aircraft started to break apart before hitting the water, in which case there would no survivors.
Even if a person did survive the crash and was in the open sea, they would have a short window of time to be rescued.
