Depends on what classifies as a 'community college'.. A technical college I might think should qualify under this banner.. However, what about places like ECPI?

I went to a technical school, 2 years. Greenville Technical College. Associates Degree in Industrial Technology.. Never really been out of work. Pell Grants paid for over half of my college bills.

My question on this.. What will Obama's plan do that Pell Grants don't? I think it's a fine idea, if implemented properly. But, there must be caution on what is paid for.. What about someone like me who already has a college degree? Are they going to pay for me to go back and get 2 or 3 more degrees? I don't think they should, necessarily. But, if I was unemployed and my degree was on outdated technology or something.. Perhaps it should.

On the surface, seems like a good idea. I'd want to see details of the plan before I make the call on whether I would support it or not.

Yes, I believe that's common knowledge nowadays. I'm wondering what your point is though.

He'll come up with a bunch of these feel good free programs so the Republican Congress can be accused of being "Anti-Education" or whatever term they need for the next election.

Push GrandMa off the cliff
Anti-Woman
Anti-Education

Just more political BS.

If one has a goal, they can wait tables and pay that easily.

Essentially, we are just going from K-12 to K-14. What parent isn't going to encourage their kids to take advantage of 2 free years of college? Why not just make it K-16?
3k was a lot more to me when I was making 10/hr than 15k for my masters is for me now that Im making 60k with my bachelors....

This program will probably exacerbate the root problem-

too many people chasing too few jobs.

Whats more sad, the fact that hes a politician using political tactics, or that he knows republicans are so against education and aiding the American people that he can use that against them.....

That's a different topic, but its the American consumers fault that's happening. We have no issues buying products made by non American workers. Every time you buy something made overseas, you added to our unemployement/underemployment.
