I think it's a good thing. Although I have my doubts that it's 100% "free". Maybe it will be core subject credit requirements will be free but major credits won't be. Personally I never understood the core credits that we were forced to take, it was like high school all over again. Give me my major credits and classes that are meaningful to pursuing that type of degree.

Coupled with having to work 60+ hours in a string of low-paying part-time jobs to pay the bills, yes.

Education is the best path out of poverty. Of COURSE a large chunk of the population doesn't want a free community college system.

Obama promised us all cheaper Insurance and a $2500 reduction in cost.

We see how that worked out for the working man.

So all these folks you know worked 60+ hours yet still had so many bills that they couldn't pay what is the equivalent of a cell phone bill to get an education? Perhaps we should teach better money/decision making skills in HS.

Sounds like a talking point.

Im sure that was a fun jab, but just in case....can you even explain to the class what communism is and what it has at all to do with the topic at hand?

Yes I can, as I did not go to college and instead became an undersea welder in Afghanistan at age 14. Thus I was never brain washed by any college professor's marxist ideologies. I am also a millionaire. Communism is when minority people in a country force the native white population to abandon their automobiles in favor of riding their bikes to work.

Typical Obama/Democrat policy. It has nothing to do with wanting to help people. It has everything to do with trying to build an iron-clad constituency that will always vote Democratic.

Free birth control for women? Women WILL vote Democratic.

Amnesty for illegals? Hispanics WILL vote Democratic.

Free college for young people? Young people WILL vote Democratic.

No matter that all these goodies and free stuff is never free. It always comes with a price. A price that will eventually have to be paid by someone and which may end up destroying the economy as well.

What will that matter as long as vast groups of people solidly vote Democratic?

So what do you call it when a minority of people pay the politicians through campaign contributions to set policies in place which make the American people unable to afford said automobiles?

It's easy to see why there's such pushback:

Who wins? Poor people. Young people. Minorities.

Who loses? Unaccredited for-profit diploma-mill "colleges" and their associated student loan financing companies.

As usual, follow the money (and the stench).
