Not even close to the same thing as what happened in France, where terrorists were walking around a semi-residential area decked out in military garb, with machine guns, in broad daylight.

And it does matter if citizens are armed. I never said every single shooting can be stopped by citizens, I'm saying that if terrorists were to walk around a US city that hasn't been crippled by anti-2nd amendment politics, they wouldn't last very long. That is the benefit of having armed law abiding citizens, when seconds count police are minutes away, citizens are right there in the moment it happens.

If that person who filmed the terrorists killing the cop had a rifle and knew how to use it, instead of a camera, don't you think things would've ended differently? Yep.

And I don't need to argue for "keeping arms", the bill of rights takes care of that for me. Just like you don't have to argue for free speech.
You do realize that people are murdered every day in this country with guns, day or night, right? Whether citizens are armed or not.

You seriously think U.S citizens want guns in the hands of terrorists and school shooters? At most they will say that there is a price to pay for freedom, that price being that every so often a nut job gets his hands on a gun and goes on a shooting spree.

Free speech is the same way. In order for all to have that freedom, we have to put up with a certain percentage spreading horrible rumors, lies (like the anti-vax crowd for instance), etc.

You do realize that people defend themselves and other innocents around them with guns, day and night, every day, right? If these citizens weren't armed they would be dead.

LOL, I'd imagine that if thug with a saturday night special were to show up in a neighborhood full of law abiding people who understand and take advantage of the 2nd amendment and tried to rob someone, the only one dead will be the thug with the gun. And that wouldn't be considered murder.

There are huge numbers of places in the USA where there are plenty of guns yet there are 0 murders year after year. In fact I'd say this is more common than not.

Tofur, you know that France does NOT have a gun ban, right? You know that citizens can own guns there, right? Your argument doesn't even make sense. You're essentially saying that if the citizens of France were allowed to own guns, this never would've happened. That's completely false not ONLY because A. they CAN own guns but also B. doesn't matter, these things happen regardless. It happens here in this country where the gun nuts are armed to the teeth.

Somebody doesn't care about murders committed by people who acquire guns illegally.

You are being disingenuous. Citizens can own guns in France but it is highly restricted to hunting or sport shooting and to acquire one of those licenses is a long and difficult process. They have nothing like a CCW so effectively, citizens in France are prevented, BY law from carrying a firearm for personal protection.

Doesn't matter if it's legal or not, there's a gun problem in this country & anyone who doesn't understand that is incredibly dense.

A statement that goes "I am right and you are dense", isn't a fact, it's an opinion.
