Perfumes are the new second-hand smoke

Think about it. There are jobs that have rules against using your cell phone due to "productivity" yet if you're seen chatting on the COMPANY phone, even about a person issue, or if you're seen hanging around the water cooler a lot, they look the other way. People gripe about people on their phones while driving in terms of the distraction, while they do the same thing by eating while driving. People complain about noisy phones in waiting rooms but then their children are noisy and they do nothing. Some people think it's rude to talk on your phone while waiting in the checkout line, but it's totally okay to talk loudly to your friends who are present. Some think you're supposed to put your phone away while eating out.

Basically, some people think it's the 1980s and cell phones should just be in the car like the car phones of that era, if we even have them there.

So, basically, I think we already a new "second-hand smoke" scapegoat.

Good point. I have made the argument more than once asking why a driver can rear end someone because he was rummaging for a CD in his glove box, walk away with maybe a ticket. But the same driver in the same situation will go to jail if he was looking down at a text message instead. Not that I'm condoning texting while driving, but there does seem to be a disconnect between cell phones and distracted driving for any reason.

So now that we have effectively banned tobacco (but yet not pot) from just about all public places and some private places are the same "smoke Nazi-progressives" going to ban any scent of perfumes/after-shaves/colognes/deodorants from all public places? Are they going to claim that "second-hand scents" are dangerous to our health and offensive and therefore need to go? That it is harmful for children to inhale aftershave or perfume scents? Really people?

Let's not forget campfires, roasting hot dogs and marshmallows with the kiddies.....tantamount to child abuse.

Campfires, fire pits, bonfires......all should be BANNED.

Cracks me up.....the same parent that throws a fit when their kid gets a whiff of second had smoke on the sidewalk has no problem taking their kid to a campground and surrounding them with campfires.

When I was a professional musician, I often was contracted to play at funerals.

I once played a funeral for a young guy whose only interests seemed to be in women and a fast car. The second one killed him, and the first filled the pews at his services. I was seated up in front, facing the mourners, and over half were young ladies around his age.
When one would become over-emotional and start to sob, the others would follow, and I would be hit with a wave of Georgio perfume, the girl's fave of the time, like a chemical slap in the face. The more emotional they got, the worse the Georgio got. It actually made me dizzy several times.

Before then, I never paid much attention to perfumes. After that, I could smell Georgio a mile away. i still hate the stuff, and i can imagine what someone who's sensitive to the ingredients in perfume must suffer through these days.
