Now Kroft's got text messages floating in cyberspace that sound like they were copied from the pages of Hustler.

It seems to me America ought to be over this by now, as long as the sex is consensual. After all, the famously conservative citizens of Louisiana, some of the very same ones who thought Hurricane Katrina was caused by gay people coming out, sent a "family values" U.S. Senator back to Washington after he admitted to having regular appointments with prostitutes in DC. And they said the sex included them diapering him. Can you get any kinkier than that? If so, please do not tell me about it. So much for the dignity of higher office.

The underlying issue is that the US gov't, state and local gov'ts do not rehabilitate people and the American public treats people that have been arrested/convicted in the same manner.

I don't care who you are, at some point in your life you have broken the law (whether that be speeding or soliciting hookers), the only difference is you were never caught.

I do not have an issue with CBS terminating his employment, that is their private judgement and frankly, he was a public figure seeing as how popular sports are in America.

The guy has family issues and needs to sort them out, perhaps this will be the event that changes that.

Hey, here's an option nobody's thought of: How about we put the finger wagging, self righteous, holier than thou morality police out of business and everybody just minds their own business? Why don't we get the gov't nose out of people's private lives and personal business and end this victimless crimes stupidity. Don't we have anything better to do than worry about what others do with their own anatomy? What is this, Saudi Arabia?

It's between him and his wife. Shouldn't be anyone else's business. 2000 innocent people were gunned down in Nigeria last week by that extremist Muslim group. Why can't people focus on the real issues of our time?

I don't know if I agree with that. We have legal brothels in rural NV counties and I've never heard of a scandal involving a minor. In LV, where prostitution is illegal it happens all the time.

That should be something between him and his wife. Why should it make national news?

Oldest profession at work and this is news? How about the secret agents using brothels in Columbia on a trip with Obama and were supposed to be working on tax payer paid time.

It's a public health problem. A high percentage of women prostitutes suffer from chemical addiction, mental health disorders, issues of violence and physical illnesses. Arrests of men who use prostitutes serve to discourage the practice.

They are running stings currently in my town and arrested a corrections officer.

Anyone who thinks the prostitution business is or can be completely consensual and harmless? Please do some research.

In Europe there seems to be a healthy industry that does not include drugs or any negative influences other than the woman wanting to do it. It's not that difficult really, illegal actions promote other illegal actions. The illegal act of prostitution will involve people that do illegal things, this includes illegal drugs.

How is it a 'public health problem?' It's no more of a public health problem than those who choose to eat cheeseburgers, or those who choose to drink wine, or those who choose to play football. These are all private health problems. The primary victim is also the primary perpetrator.

Do you want police sting operations on people buying a McDonald's cheeseburger too?
