Hee-hee, meant I have nothing to do with drugs, gangs, terrorists, that kind of thing. Yes, I am guilty of having a lead foot at times. There would not be cause to slap one of those dohickies on my house. At least until something I normally do becomes illegal, which, I guess could happen at any time in this screwed up country.
Well, seems I heard a long time ago that ''certain'' government entities already possess the technology to hear what is being said inside a house and also that they have heat sensing devices to see where people or animals are located.
Add that to satellites that can read a license plate, the internet, and soon-to-be-flying-everywhere-drones, where will our privacy exist?
The weird thing is coming to the realization that expatriation seemed like the best option years ago.
Now, I'm just left wondering why I don't get off my ass and do it because the way things are heading here, the writing is on the wall.

There were 5 solid years where any number of Jews- including Einstein- recognized the writing on the wall and left.
The ones who stayed said there was nothing to worry about, could never happen here, etc, until it did.
The way this country is heading, I wonder if this era we are in is like the 33-38 period in Germany, where you can still leave if you want, the illusion of 'all is well' remains intact but the door is closing fast and once it does, its too late. When that time comes, nobody can say they didn't see it coming because the writing is on the wall in big bold letters.
Jim, if the law required the cops to have a warrant signed by a judge before using this thing, I guess I'd be OK with that. The cops should not, however, be able to use this thing at will.
I felt safer 50 years ago, back when we didn't even lock our doors at night. I sometimes feel that I'm only a whisper away from being arrested for some stupid thing or another.

Things have been seriously out of hand in this country for a long time. And you don't have to be a John Bircher to know that. You just have to look carefully at history and put the pieces together. I'll start by stating that I am not a political person. I served in the U.S. Navy for 20+ years, but no longer vote; nor do I protest or try to maneuver situations to turn things around politically the way I think they should go.
As a Bible-believing Christian and preacher, my focus is on the Lord Jesus Christ, and wanting to do His will. But my wife and I aren't "Jim and Tammy" of PTL or "Paul and Jan" of TBN. I don't demand people's tithes, or take my church on "God hates ****" protests. We aren't interested in competing with Rick Warren for huge church buildings complete with Starbuck's. We don't drive a Cadillac, my wife doesn't wear mink, and --when we had a dog-- he didn't sleep in an air conditioned doghouse. I am not concerned about Blood moons or who supports Israel.
Having said that, here are a few things I've observed along the way:
The Gov't has withheld the truth for a long time. Most in the U.S. don't realize we already live in a Socialist country, and that began long before this present Administration.
"The Great Emancipator" Abe Lincoln wrote to Karl Marx (father of the Communist Manifesto), and told him how much he appreciated his writings! Is it any wonder that Lincoln stripped Americans of their rights with martial law under the excuse of the war?
Theodore Roosevelt is lauded by "conservative" politicians/pundits. Yet he opened the door to a large over-hanging hand of Federalism for the Gov't, by promoting unions, laid the foundation for the Federal Reserve (which is a privately owned company, not legally connected to the Gov't and yet controlling the U.S. economy and made it so the U.S. is tied to the European bank cartels), and felt it was his duty to see that the U.S. declared war on and/or kept control of major parts of the world. (IE: Spanish-American war, negotiating the Russo-Japanese war, Panama Canal, etc.).
"The Last Great Conservative" Ronald Reagan sent the infamous liar and crook, Richard Nixon, over to China to build U.S.-China relations. After that, China became "most favored nation" with the U.S., and began to gobble up U.S. assets.
The rights of citizens were greatly stripped down after 9/11; under "moderate" GW Bush.
Working with people who have been "on the inside" of things with the Gov't confirmed to us that what was done in "Star Trek" in the 1960's is almost entirely do-able right now...one of the few exceptions being "beam[ing] me up, Scotty." These people were not exaggerating; they were confiding as to how bad it already is in Gov't abilities to war, to control the lives of others.
I'm not "picking on" so-called conservatives...the liberals were even worse!
Recently, the Army released two huge blimps to use as surveillance...over U.S. cities! Their span of vision is a radius of over 340 miles in any direction. The one, sent up from Baltimore, MD covers the range of N. Carolina to Maine, the Army is able to see anything from car movement to infra-red image, to supposedly "protect" Americans. The other one is reported to work with it, further identifying air/land/sea activity; and providing targeting data to interceptors. This builds the level of control to minute detail of the comings and goings of U.S. citizens; using the excuse of terrorist threat.
Without writing a tome, I hope this shows that things are gravely serious.
If you are a Christian, I urge you to get your life ready to suffer for Jesus Christ. Don't wait until storm troopers take your Bible or ban your worship meetings--get rid of the frills of happy-go-lucky 21st century churchianity and begin to truly seek God.
If you aren't a Christian, I plead with you to begin to read the New Testament, beginning with the gospels. Find out who Jesus Christ really is, and seriously consider His claims. If you will turn to Him and away from your sins, your life won't become a joy-ride; but you'll have peace within, a way to endure what is coming, and hope for eternity.
I don't think I have ever seen a less true statement in my life.
