OP, I think your idea is ''spot on''. I think more will respond to a thread if the topic is clear. Thank you!

I agree with the OP. Some folks are mimicking the media with their "scintillating" thread titles. Ironically the media catches a lot of flak for sensationalizing the news e.g. If it bleeds, it leads.

Reminds me of Facebook when people put those vague statuses up...I usually ignore them....when people do that here..I usually ignore it too!!! So yes..it helps to put a topic on the line instead of some obscure remark!!!

We've got a few threads going right now with subject lines that don't identify the topic at all. It makes it difficult to easily identify the threads that I'm interested in following. Please avoid thread titles like

"You've got to be kidding me ..."
"This just makes me sick"
"America, what's wrong???"

and instead identify what you're posting about ... e.g.:

"5 y/o invoiced for missing birthday party"
"Woman set baby on fire"
"Mall shooting in central FL"

Thanks!
let's just admit what this is really all about...Canadians funding Super-Pacs to wield their influence like an out-of-work fisherman swinging a club.

I agree I find this annoying as well. As a result I just don't bother to click on those threads that don't identify the subject. I don't really care if it makes them mad or sad or whatever before I even know what they are posting about.

Well that's probably why this thread was made. A request that this rule be enforced. Don't see why it would bother anyone, unless that person is one of those who make vague thread titles in an attempt to get more page views and potential responses.
