Curious how something becomes "Trendy".

Really feel negatively about "whats trending" and want to find out what others know/think.

"Trending" is just another way to shape or manipulate public opinion. Anyone can saying anything is trending, it can't be proven it is or isn't. A few people paid to post on the Internet is enough to make something appear to be trending. Also, it is easy to get something to trend in a local or regional area. Put a sign on a car and drive it around. People will comment on it in forums and fecebook and twit and it will trend.

Most of what is deemed trendy I’ve never heard of.

Ultimately? The ELITE. "Trending" is part of indirect population management and profitability increase.
My favorite one is when they made females wear short skimpy jackets and pants = less material and labor to make BUT at higher cost, as it's "trendy".

What a bunch of clowns you lot are.
Firstly, "trendy" is not equal to "trending."
Secondly, trending is numbers-based and determined by the population using the relevant social media and searches. No one is in charge of it, notwithstanding idiot conspiracy theorists.

Overuse of a once perfectly good word and it's derivative by people wanting to be "in the know" which is what it used to be called in order to appear "up to date" another once popular and over-used term of long ago.

It's all about people conforming to some kind of standard that makes them feel they are part of something bigger in order to be accepted. The word comes from whomever or whatever is the most represented pop culture of the day.

If you say, do it or show it; they will follow.
