This lowers my opinion of professional athletes even more. What kind of multi-millionaire would not make sure his father has no reason to ever work a day in his life? Buy your dad a damn garbage truck and let him drive around on your estate if he likes it so much.

Do you wonder why so many athletes end up broke? It's mind sets like your own that help

Umm, err, I think it was his dad's own choice to continue working until he gets his pension.

When you've been at it long enough, and the 'end' is near, why not stick it out?

I'm sure his son would have gladly given his father whatever he wanted, and who is to say his son hasn't provided a lot of things to his dad already?

Gee another news article making a big deal out of something that would be considered normal.

You would be surprised actually how often families leech off of their athletic family member. The Tyron Smith for the Cowboys story, really comes to mind. He had to get a restraining order against his family.

He's 18 months from earning his pension meanwhile the kid could screw up his knee and be out of work tomorrow. Let dad work.
