You think that already doesn't occur? I challenge anyone to sit at any eatery of their choice and watch what goes on just in their view.
I can almost guaranty that there will be at least 5 food handling violations and if you watch long enough you'll see some serious ones.
Once you've been in the food business and seen what people do/don't do you realize that hand wash rules, gloves, sanitation rules are mostly just suggestions to be ignored.

We've pretty much ceased eating out and I have to say we've not been "gut" sick since and as a bonus we feel better.

Oh I have no doubt that not everyone follows the rules. For the sake of argument against the senator I assumed a perfect world. In reality it probably wouldn't affect things much if at all.

I am thinking of just putting some random signs up in restaurants I don't like.

"Our employees scratch their nuts, then don't wash their hands so we can pass the soap savings on to you."

I'd say that it is obvious this clown doesn't wash his hands after using the can or he would never have brought it up in the first place. What a filthpig. I can't say I'd ever accept an invitation to dinner at his place! E. coli, anyone???

Wait, I got an idea. All employees of the US Senate dining room, don't wash your hands. Too much governemnt regulations, away with them all!
Oh my goodness. Can you imagine Starbucks -- for example -- posting the signage he apparently suggests.

"Notice to all customers, our baristas may or may not wash their hands after their morning constitutionals. Buyers beware."

I really think the first sign should go up in the US Senate dining room at the Capitol. Then his fellow senators can say, "See you idiot, look what you started."

Oh, wait, I don't think senators can think that advanced. Never mind.
