It all started when his order arrived and he quickly realized his chicken was cold.
“I sent it back to the person who was working the window and I asked them to get some fresh chicken,” Minor said. “And they told me to pull up in the drive-thru and fresh chicken would be out in six or seven minutes.”
After waiting for a while, a worker came out and handed him a bag of food. But when he opened what he assumed would be a box of steaming hot chicken, he was taken aback.
“When I opened the box up, the BoJangles’ chicken box, there was probably close to $4,500 in cash and also SunTrust deposit slips,” he explained.
poor guy. Instead of giving him a firm handshake and saluting him, they punish him for being honest. I gained even more respect for him when he asked for a letter of apology instead of a $100 gift certificate (to spend at a place that left him with a bad taste in his mouth, literally and figuratively).
The store manager was an idiot, insulting the customer that likely saved him his job. Corporate did not do much better, although a $100. Gift Card is appropriate. None of the people this gentleman dealt with seem to have an ounce of customer service skills. A hearty handshake with a sincere Thank You would have gone a long way.
It was the manager's fault. He's the guy responsible for the money, and deposit slips. It's great this guy was honest and/or smart. I dont know why he would feel he was being set up, unless he had a personal relationship with employees or was an employee himself.
Who knows? Maybe an employee was setting up the manager? Stranger things have happened.
I think I would have taken the deal for the tailgate party.
I need to go eat there and send cold chicken back. Knowing what I know about their company now, I wouldn't return the money!
