DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. — A gunman has shot seven people, killing five of them, in a subdivision west of Atlanta.

Police: 7 people shot, 5 dead in Georgia shooting - The Washington Post
Five people were killed, including several children. And these people were killed not only because this guy was mentally-ill... These people were killed because this guy have a license and gun! I'm not against all weapons, but i'm against weapons in hands of average citizens, which think that they will never use their guns wrong!
People, time to understand, that gun under your pillow will bring more harm than good.

Classic mistake of trading liberty for security so that you'll eventually have neither. Since the erosion of liberty is a gradual process over a period of time; and also because of the normalcy bias, people don't notice what they've lost until it's too late to avert disaster.

We already live in a fake democracy/police state, yet most people haven't noticed, or they would be much more worried about the harm government is doing to citizens:

People die in car crashes because they have a license and a car. Let's get rid of cars.

People die in swimming pools too, let's ban 'em?
Man, your arguments aren't logic, because we're talking about guns only

Guns can be obtained in many ways. I really think a big part of the problem is the way America fails to treat the mentally ill. Many clinics don't take insurance. Someone who is an adult can't be forced to take their meds or to go see their doctor. Somehow we have got to start making mental illness a higher priority. Do I have the answer? No, but I do know we have to change the treatment for this disease and stop being ashamed of it.

And famous transsexuals provoke the paparazzi to follow them causing car chases that kill people. Should we get rid of transsexuals?

YOUR arguments aren't logic, that's what he was pointing out. Do you really think this mentally unhinged person couldn't have killed 5 people with his car, or a knife, or a wood cutting axe, a hammer, or a home made bomb? Humans are weak, easily injured creatures, it doesn't take much to snuff us out. This idea that if guns were to magically disappear then murder would as well is totally illogical. To get rid of murder you'd have to get rid of all the people who want to murder. The people are the issue, not the tool they use.

Just like fat people are to blame for their condition, not the spoons and forks they use to get that way.

This is such a weak retort. People die sitting on toilet seats. Let's ban toilets.

ah yes, and here we come with the "all weapons are the same" canard. Sure this mentally unhinged person could kill 5 people with something else, but he chose a gun. Like most people do, because a gun is the best "tool" of choice.

You'd be shocked to know that this is the reason armies use them, and cops use them as opposed to using a knife or a hammer or a wood cutting axe.

On December 14, 2012, the same day that maniac was shooting kids in Connecticut, a deranged Chinese man made almost exactly the same kind of attack at a Chinese elementary school. The only real difference is this maniac had a knife and not a gun.

Compare:

Chenpeng Village Primary School stabbing - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

If Lanza had only a knife, there would not have been nearly as many casualties. It's actually rather difficult to kill someone with a knife. Ask a prison guard. People have been stabbed multiple times and recovered. Bullets are one of the most efficient ways to kill. That's why armies don't rush into battle wielding cars, knives, wood-cutting axes, hammers and home-made bombs.

The one thing the gun nuts will never, ever understand is that the 2nd amendment starts with the words "A well regulated." Guns are currently regulated, but they're not regulated well. There are loopholes big enough to drive a truck full of guns through. Close these loopholes and people like me will agree that "we're doing all that we can do."
