The Transportation Security Administration is investigating how a woman with a history of boarding airplanes without a ticket was able to fly, ticket-free, from Minnesota to Florida. Marilyn Hartman was arrested Sunday in Jacksonville, Fla., and is scheduled to appear in court there today. Police say the 63-year-old Hartman told investigators she boarded the plane in Minneapolis-St. Paul without a ticket and flew to Jacksonville.

The authorities have much to learn from her. How is she able to do this repeatedly?

Here in NY there is a man who has a fixation with the MTA and has taken numerous subway trains and buses for rides. Stopping along the route for passengers. That story reminded me of this, Though a plane is much tighter security I thought.

I work in the airline industry and not only does this story scare me, but it also just goes to show we have a lot to learn, and also it goes to show that if you put your mind to something with a specific goal in mind, it can be done! what I what to know is why she was let out of her 6 month sentence only on the 4th day, o wait probably due to overcrowding and non violent etc etc..but rules are rules, and she should not have gotten a slap on the wrist, maybe 6 months of treatment at a mental hospital would have been a better sentence.

This shows just how vulnerable our airports are. If a sweet old lady was able to sneak flight in without being noticed then why are we paying such large sums for airport security. The TSA is nothing more than another failed government program that is nothing more than a cash cow.

This is truly pathetic. Here we are, 14 years after 9/11 and things like this still happen.

This person should not have been able to get through the airport security system without a ticket once, let alone several times.

It's almost funny if the implications weren't so scary...
