CSPAN is the only network that I would trust but then they don't normally have news broadcasts.

I watch CNN for entertainment. TMZ is a more more honest source. I only watch Fox 10% of the time because I now what they are going to say before they say it.

CNN's international feeds are much better, more serious, and more credible than what they serve up solely for their US customers. The int'l feeds can be found around the country either later at night or on separate channels altogether. If you watch TV news regularly you will be see a huge difference between the two.

Years ago I sat in the courtroom to listen to testimony in a criminal case for someone I knew who could not be there. I knew the victims and their family, so I was pretty familiar with the case. Later when I read the news accounts of the testimony and the entire case in the local paper, it was so full of errors that I realized you can't always believe everything that's reported. It was lazy journalism that wasn't even fact checked.

Faux News really only has 3 things to say for every single news story:

1) "President Obama is acting on this issue with unilateral power"

2) "The Democrats are causing gridlock again"

3) "We tell the real truth here --- only the liberal media spins the facts"

They haven't been a credible news source for a very long time. Instead it's..

  • Opinion given as news by loudmouths
  • Constant celebrity/sports figure gushing
  • They wave the flag instead of raising the red flag.
  • Absolute support for the corporate status quo
  • Parrot politicians without question as factual without any counter point.
  • Lies of omission
  • Did I say loud? They are very loud when speaking.

Yes, but how is that different from MSNBC, Fox, and all the other media. There is no news anymore unless you look under all the rocks in the world. (Why are you using the word "communist" about something that isn't?)

So what's with the suspense? Give us an example of some of the "lies" CNN has spread so we know what you are talking about.

I find it funny how this thread is about CNN, yet the liberals cannot help but bring up FOX. Most never watch it, but assume that all their stories are made up. I've got news for them, the Obama administration is pretty bad, regardless of whether other news outlets are willing to say so or not. Don't dismiss the message just because of who the messenger is (unless it is some wacko like Al Sharpton).

My view on most media is that it is slanted, and that has been reinforced even more having read Sharyl Attikisson book "Stonewalled".

Stonewalled: My Fight for Truth Against the Forces of Obstruction, Intimidation, and Harassment in Obama's Washington - Kindle edition by Sharyl Attkisson. Politics & Social Sciences Kindle eBooks @ Amazon.com.

She went after both political parties with professional gusto, yet she was thwarted more times than not by her bosses in New York. I highly recommend reading her book because both sides of the political spectrum will have their eyes opened.

As to CNN specifically, it certainly has a left leaning bent, but there are still some good reporters who try to throw hard questions at both sides. For instance Anderson Cooper will ask hard questions regardless of who is in the hot seat. So while they are gone downhill somewhat, they do have some people with interity.
