Wake up sheeple. You voted for this.
Holy crap, I hope this is a joke.

I think this doctor needs to be re-evaluated by his profession,as doctors are supposed to treat sick people and not question the thoughts or lifestyles the sick people may have, Whats next republican doctors not treating Democrat patients or visa versa.

COMMON SENSE TIPS- Physicians Offices & New Patients

1. Don't come in to a Physican's Office demanding your baby to be accepted into their practice.
2. Instead ... ask nicely.
3. Don't demand a well baby check be conducted
4. Instead... ask nicely
5. If you are referred out for your medical care or another medical professional is referred in any capacity, don't go to the MEDIA telling tales that a Doctor wouldn't treat your child. Your child needs a WELL BABY check up. DON'T LIE ABOUT YOUR BABY. That he/she needs treatment and was denied when the baby only was there for a well baby check up

6. Actually see the Doctor you were referred to. Don't be vindictive or threaten to go to the media if another one takes over instead. Treat him or her well. Tell of any concerns, BE NICE and say THANK YOU

7. Decide if you feel they are competent. Heck they may be a better fit than "she" could've been

8. If so, nicely and calmly request your baby be accepted into their practice.

9.Explain calmly... your baby needs a well baby check (not that he/she wouldn't already know it) and you'd be delighted if they would accept her as a patient. Pray the Physician isn't aware of any crazy PUBLIC witch hunt of a last medical professional

10. And again...rinse and repeat. Don't demand your baby become a patient to Doc #2 or else you'll go to the media. And you will lie and say your baby needed treatment but was denied.

If Doctor #2 doesn't accept your baby, wonder if YOU are the problem. Consider getting professional help for yourself when if the desire to contact the media with tales engulfs you. Stop focusing on yourself, your Sex drive and your sexuality. TMI in the Doctors office!!! It's about BABY. And don't threaten the Physician. Don't call names like Bigot or hate filled

Don't go barking off orders like a Soildier in Nazi Germany as if you have some alienable rights others do not due to your very unique and public, sexuality. Again, TMI. Actually do what you can do to make it more conducive she receive the check up she needs by omitting your threats, entitlement attitude, and overall weirdness. Be gracious for any help you receive. Act as normal as you can. Remember where you are, in a Physicians Office.

Treated for what ailment or illness? Read the story

The baby needed a WELL baby check at a week old

They were in the process of attempting to obtain a Doctor and arrived to the visit... obtaining a different medical professional.

Because the first Medical Professional wisely decided not to accept baby (considering what we know now, you can't blame her) She arranged for his medical care instead

A contract is ALWAYS in place between BOTH parties prior to services rendered. Within that contract, you will find specifics which go into detail about different aspects regarding the medical care provided.

If the couple "dumped" the Doctor for whatever reason (religion etc) as you call it, such as cancelled the visit, would we be crying foul?

Let's play fair here. They can cancel their doctor visit for whatever reason, even if the Doctors religion offends them, it's their right

A contract is given via forms you fill out prior to be accepted as a Patient. Once filled out, they also contain the patients medical history.

Within these forms is an agreement for future services.

If both do not come to a contractual agreement prior to services rendered, then there is no contract in place thus no services provided
If the couple canceled their appointment within the acceptable time to cancel, generally 24-48 hour notice then they are well within their rights if not they would be expected to pay for that visit. The couple did not set an appointment, then send someone else to the appointment to tell the doctor that they didn't approve of her life.

IF the doctor did not feel she could serve the patient and the babies parents, then she should not have set the appointment. By setting the appointment she agreed to see the patient, kind of like a contract to provide service. She violated that agreement and did it in a very cowardly manner.

It's a really bad situation for that poor baby, yes. It's assumed this is a healthy baby going for a well baby visit.
What is a bad situation for the baby? Having two parents that love her? Having parents that cared enough about her health that they interviewed doctors, and set first appointment, while pregnant?
How aweful it must be for that poor child to be so loved and cared for.

The Dr obviously handled the situation poorly, but then we all have handled situations poorly. Doesn't mean she is a bad person.

She simply refused to take a new patient. She saw that her belief would interfere with doing her job in this instance so she passed. Drs do this all the time. Its perfectly legal. Hopefully it remains so. Would you really want to do business with someone who didn't want you as a customer? Especially if its a Dr?
Excepth for the fact that the doctor DID accept them as new patients while the mother was still pregnant AND seh set the first appointment (agreement to see the baby). Then she changed her mind.

Personally this one is a little different because it involves public transportation and access to it.

There are more but here is some from the LGBT community.
Why would this be different? They were refusing service based on religious beliefs. Why should it matter what business they are in?

Wait, you mean he didn't go crying to the media and hire a lawyer to sue and force the gay photographer to take a picture of his family? What a novel idea, actually respecting someones views and simply taking your business elsewhere.
The photographer shouldn't have refused to do the Christmas card picture if they did Christmas card pics for others. And the guy did go to the media, or else there wouldn't be a story about it.

I disagree with the hair stylist here too. I can, however, see his position because the Governor was the one that actually signed legislation that denied him the same rights she has. Kind of like if the babies parents has walked in and spit in the doctors face and still expected to be treated.
The hairstylist would have done more for his position by letting the governor get to know him and see him as a human and not some evil thing less deserving of rights.

whoop de doo....

.
If she didn't accept the baby as a patient, why did she interview with the parents before the baby was born AND set an appointment to see the baby?
She did not refer the baby elsewhere, she didn't show up on the day of the appointment that SHE scheduled, and sent in a different doctor to tell them that she had "prayed" on the situation and decided that she would not see them.

You do not ACCEPT the patient by setting an appointment to see them.
Then not only not call to cancel, or actually refer them to someone else, but hide out and send someone else to do the dirty work for you.
And then expect everyone to be all hunky dory with what you have done.

If I interviewed for a job, set an appointment to do the job, That is in effect a contract to do the job.

How is setting an appointment to see the baby and not showing up for the appointment "referring" the baby to another doctor?
