More than 1000 Muslims formed a human shield around Oslo's synagogue on Saturday, offering symbolic protection for the city's Jewish community and condemning an attack on a synagogue in neighboring Denmark last weekend.
Chanting "No to anti-Semitism, no to Islamophobia," Norway's Muslims formed what they called a ring of peace a week after Omar Abdel Hamid El-Hussein, a Danish-born son of Palestinian immigrants, killed two people at a synagogue and an event promoting free speech in Copenhagen last weekend.
"Humanity is one and we are here to demonstrate that," Zeeshan Abdullah, one of the protest's organizers told a crowd of Muslim immigrants and ethnic Norwegians who filled the small street around Oslo's only functioning synagogue.
Good to see, about time. There's one...
We as a world need to see more of things like this, maybe a Million Muslim march against Radical Muslims and terror?
Until such a time as a large segment of Muslims around the world stand up and be counted people will "assume" they either agree with what's going on with ISIS et al or are ambivalent.

When was the last Million White People march against racism and imperialism? Until that happens people will assume that they either agree with what's going on with institutional racism and systematic oppression of coloured people worldwide or are ambivalent.
^ A tad disingenuous, ultimately religion (in this case Islam) is a choice*, race isn't. Religion is the problem.
* Notwithstanding Islam's illiberal position on apostasy.
It is really sad how a few bad apples can ruin the bunch. I do believe that the majority of muslims are not terrorists just like the majority of black people are not gangsta thugs and how the majority of white people are not racist. The trouble is it is really hard to change the image caused by the few bad apples.
This action by this muslim group is a good step in the right direction.

why do muslims need to prove anything to us? if they are not extremist and just out living their lives like everyone else, that's enough for me. should 1 million americans march against invading countries unprovoked so that the rest of the world knows we aren't all warmongers?

We as a world wouldn't be disappointed if a Million Americans march to apologize for the invasions in Afghanistan and Iraq. That would probably go a long way in de-radicalizing moderates amongst Muslims.

You can assume what you want. They probably have enough problems wondering if they are going to get burned/ decapitated by ISIS or bombed by the USA.
For me, this one act does not undo the damage already done to this religion's reputation and has thus trickled down to its members. A nice heartwarming story, though.
Let's see a million Muslim soldiers for America . ... because they want to protect what they can never get in another country....
Freedom
Until then .... it is a religion I cannot support
