As long as they don't destroy all of the oil, things should be alright.

Yeah! The Turks didn't train "moderate" rebels for 0 return on their investment!

Lightbulb So-called ISIS destroy ancient statues in Iraq

All the more reason that the Iraqi military (that we've spent a decade and billions of dollars equipping and training) should go after these criminal vermin.

Instead, they cut and run.

Not our problem.

They destroyed priceless ancient Mesopotamian/Assyrian artifact. They pretty much destroyed over half of Mesopotamian history. Very sad and disgusting.

Glad some of statues and such were already taken to Europe and North America.

Its an issue for human history thats for sure. This region is the cradle of civilization yet is populated by a religious group that believes in destroying historical objects because they hurt an invisible man in the sky's feelings.

One day humanity will look back on all this and wonder in amazement how we survived as a species, if we even do....

Some if not all were replicas. You really didn't think the powers that be would leave that stuff in Mosul? Mosul was not the safest place to begin with.
