IIRC, it was actually an Audi Super Bowl ad from 2-3 years ago, kudos to Audi for their creativity.

Quinton most of all wanted Leonard's blessing in his portrait of Spock. He definately nailed it.

Losing Leonard is losing a part of my life. When I was a fifteen year old kid, my friends and I did our own Star Trek stories on a casette tape recorder, mostly making them up as we went. Star Trek fandom was my introduction to science fiction fandom, which is a major part of my life. Spock had real meaning to so many fans, people who are a little different and see a slightly off the wall world and how being different can set you aside. We *got* him. And if you were fifteen, life was a struggle between an emotionally charged world, and the quest for order in it. We knew his struggle. And when you *get* a character and fit him into your life, he stays a part of you.

Now he and Dee are jousting with words in a place where age and illness don't matter anymore. RIP to both.

I saw him live in 1976 as Sherlock Holmes at the Shubert Theater in Chicago. It was a great play and there were a lot of Star Trek in jokes.

What shows Mr. Nimoy's talent is that he had to portray a character, Spock, who suppresses his Emotions, yet at the same time to do so without looking wooden. That precarious balance that Mr. Nimoy achieved is what shows Mr. Nimoy's talent.

I saw The Good Mother, directed by Leonard Nimoy when it came out in theaters and really liked it. It didn't do that well in the box office, but it did get good reviews. I saw it on TV, maybe 5 or 6 years ago and the story didn't hold up that well, but the acfting and the directing still seemed excellent to me. I know that this movie was really Leonard Nimoy's second wife's idea, as the story probably paralleled her own.
