I'm glad you posted this. What a beautiful (and true) statement.
We'll miss Leonard Nimoy, having "known" him most of our lives. It seems the more the day goes on, the sadder I am for the loss of a man I never met.
RIP, Mr. Spock.
Me, too, Emerald.
No man is an island,
Entire of itself,
Every man is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less.
As well as if a promontory were.
As well as if a manor of thy friend's
Or of thine own were:
Any man's death diminishes me,
Because I am involved in mankind,
And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls;
It tolls for thee.
LEONARD NEMOY has been around for awhile. He was on Bonanza and lots of westerns before he went to space. I am surprised he could find much work with those ears!
I attended several Star Trek conventions in the 1980's when I lived in the Denver area, the one that sticks out in my mind is the one when Leonard Nimoy was the guest speaker. He told one great story after another after another, spoke for well over an hour. And signed the heck out of autographs. What a great attitude this man had about his role of Spoke, about his other tv endeavors, and as far as that goes about life itself!
We've lost a great man today.
