It just gets sicker and sicker. Stealing is now considered law enforcement. Do not drive with large amounts of cash or valuables. Cops can now "legally" discover your money sort of the way Europeans "discovered" America while there were people already here. I think they call that precedence.

Police have seized $2.5 billion from citizens who weren't breaking the law.

Countdown until someone comes bustling in with their tail all fluffed out, demanding to know why you hate cops so much...

This certainly doesn't surprise anyone who was a punk in the eighties. This kind of stuff has been going on forever.

Sheriff and Police stations have been busted before for this by state auditors, but the audits happen so infrequently that many more get away with it. It's very noticeable when police rake in more than they need. This means more officers, more equipment, more arrests. Corruption without representation.

This is old news. I think 20/20 covered this over 15 years ago.

Who is the author of this so-called news story? Good to see your cop hating agenda is alive and well on the current events forum. I'm all for exposing truly corrupt cops or cops who commit crimes, but when your only threads and posts are cop hating, there seems to be a biased agenda at work.

In all my decades of driving and getting stopped by the cops for one thing or another, I've never been beaten, threatened, assaulted, tasered or robbed by a cop. Hallelujah, I'm a miracle!!!

^ which requires you to spend more of your time, money, and energy to get back something that was illegally taken from you when you weren't even charged with or convicted of a crime.
