1) facebook requires the person to be 13 to be on. Most likely he lied, violation of terms and conditions. he makes a big deal about being 12 in the media. . and boom, Facebook shuts him down. He can apply next year. based on the article regarding "suspicious activity" that seems the most likely reason.
- it is true a LOT of kids lie, but its hard to catch.. . if your under 13 and want to keep your facebook account, don't be a spectacle? it took ONE person flagging his account to to do this. . .

2) Facebook is a private company and can "block you" from its services anytime and for any reason. You don't have a "right" to a Facebook account. if it DECIDED to be an arbiter . .it has every right to be.

3) a lot of people say worse stuff about Obama on facebook and don't get a account shut down. So it seems people are making this more than it is.

4) i'm sure the world really misses Jimj's great commentary on facebook. your friends are really hurt, no doubt, about your lack of participation. /sarcasm

What does this say to the nations kids? I know, toe the party line or we will shut you up...

What is wrong with what this kid was saying? Was he promoting jihad or violence against anyone? Was he using language that would be found "offensive" using what's acceptable on TV nowadays as a guide? Was it hard to understand him?

This is one reason among many others that I do not participate on Facebook.

you can report a profile

the profile is reviewed

if the report is genuine, and their is a violation of TOC, it can be yanked

but you can't vote people off facebook

That was my first thought as well, and I'm pretty sure that was also the cause of the page being locked.

Bottom line, they don't need a leg to stand on. It's their site. They can allow or disallow anything they want.

Good for FB. We don't need such ignorance on social media or anyplace else.

Boy violates terms of services for FB (age restriction that he knowingly lied about), and OP spins it into an alleged violation of the First Amendment. I'm not completely awake, but c'mon now.

Secondly, his personal page is still open so there goes the idea that it was closed due to age.
From what I've been reading Facebook has a history of doing things like this to "certain" people. Yes, they own the website but they do not promote it as controlled by thought police.

It's disgusting what they will allow....
And what they censor.
Facebook is a joke.

Ignorance, lol
You mean people actually seeing through all the smoke screens &
calling attention to what's really going on in this country?
This kid could teach you a thing or 2, I'm sure.

Sadly its just a sign of the times. The whole "freedom of speech" thing is a farce, only applicable if the gov't agrees with what you have to say. It wont change, either. It will just get worse and worse.
