19 is clearly an adult, but in our culture we view that as a child. No one thinks 18,19,20 is an adult anymore. It's a child who should be in "school"(the 4 year extension of high school we call college) and who is not legally allowed to drink alcohol, view porn in some states, and a whole list of other things that have been added on to that list of under 21. You can't even join e-harmony until your 21. That's a private company, but you get my point. In the eyes of many, I guess 20 is a child who can't date....lmao..... Time to change some laws.
While I agree with you that the drinking age should be lowered back to 18, this age is still old enough for someone to join the army, be given a rifle and ordered to kill people in war .
Blame the "progressive thinkers" for the illogical dichotomy of that you state, but it's irrelevant to the crime committed, in this case terrorism, and the remedy applied, i.e. execution.
