Wow what a stupid kid - I'm debating whether or not to hate the attackers though, because if I thought a strange man had tried to abduct my kid, I'd be very hard not to want to kick the **** out of him.
there was no claim of abduction even on the lying kid's part.
Another black vs. white hate crime, though don't hold your breath waiting for the attackers to be charged with a hate crime. Without the video we would never know the race of either the criminals or the victim.

A hate crime usually involves some sort of racial bias. They didn't attack the man because of his race, they attacked him because of revenge for something they believed he did to their family member. I believe that might be considered a crime of passion.

The attackers are just as stupid as the kid. If any one of them had more than two brain cells to rub together they would have realized that what they were doing was wrong.
The proper way to handle this would have been to confront the man about the son's claims of assault... with the cops present. Most likely, a call to the cops would have made the kid confess to lying before this ever could have happened.
I don't understand why the police are still "looking" for suspects. The other people involved were clearly the children of one or both of the women and I believe there may have been one other adult female. Arrests should have been made by now.
