I'm sure there is a good guy with a gun somewhere in this story.

Always is... he's (or she's) the one that has to knock on the door of the driver's house to inform them of their loved ones death.

I remember that, but not from the MNM which largely ignored it.

Thankfully, the man lived (don't remember in what condition), and 4 people were arrested. Also, a woman carrying a gun came to his aid at the time.

Problem is, those are not the only people who think of themselves as "Good guys with guns."

The USA has hundreds of millions of people, the world billions. No laws, no amount of control is ever going to get them all to think the same, thank goodness.

Similar occurred in Miami years ago as well. The driver was a plain clothes police detective. Child ran into the street. The driver got out and was performing CPR on the kid when a mob gathered and struck him repeatedly.

Sad story all around.
Yes, I would guess the same thing. If not the toddler's father, then a close family member. The teen getting shot could have easily been a result of the teen trying to take the gun away from the shooter...I would assume that that shooting was accidental. And you know the wagons are being circled on this one too. Even though he shot an unintended victim, I don't see too many people coming forward on this one.

Tragic all around. This is a reason why I don't blame people who drive away from those emotionally-charged situations and try to seek the police help away from the scene. Even otherwise sane people who have suffered a tragic loss can flip under such situations.
