An evidence photo shows a Chevy Malibu that Cleveland police officers riddled with bullets after a chase that ended in the deaths of an unarmed man and woman. Officer Michael Brelo, who investigators say fired 34 shots at the car and then climbed on the hood and fired 15 more through the windshield, is on trial on two counts of voluntary manslaughter.

Thousands of fatal police shooting does not equate to bad shootings. Actually that is what one would expect..thousands of good shootings with only an aberrant number of bad shootings. The article title is a reason why the term yellow journalism exists.

I don't know of anything that would prevent a town or city from not arming its police force.

Any candidate for mayor and city council can run on the platform of disarming the police. It would then be up to the citizens of such places to vote them into office. The bottom line is that the residents can disarm the police if they choose.

I'm guessing that most people don't feel that is a good choice.

I'd rather live in a place where the cops are armed.
