Women's Colleges
That's club wrestling, not NCAA wrestling. There's club ultimate frisbee too.
(I've advocated for the NCAA sanctioning women's wrestling. It is not going to happen any time soon though.)

Because I think people are idiots to assume a small person is harmless and weak? (Not to mention the lovely sexism involved in assuming that a woman is weaker and less dangerous than a man.)

Of course I am being serious ! Would you have preferred that this drunken woman, who was driving erratically, would have been left alone so she could plow her car into some innocent family and kill them all ?

Not me, she needed taken off the road and she resisted arrest. I think she was so drunk that she passed out when he tried to get her to the ground.

You also don't see that she was apparently intoxicated most of that day, that she was driving around with her six year old daughter in the car, so drunk that numerous phone calls to the police and 911 had been made by innocent bystanders who were simply alarmed by her obvious state of intoxication while driving and walking around with a six year old child, who also told various people that her mother had been drunk all day and that she was hungry.

She had already wandered into several businesses being belligerent and uncooperative. Customers in those businesses and people driving who witnessed her behavior were calling the police in droves trying to get this woman off the street and to get someone to intervene on behalf of her little girl, who was put in a very dangerous situation by her own mother.

I'm not saying that the police were justified in slamming her into the pavement, but also keep in mind that in her extremely intoxicated state, she could have contributed to her own injuries and unconsciousness by her own behaviors during and before the event.

Chris Rock gives some excellent advice on how not to get your ass whooped by the police. Google it if you haven't already seen it.
And you have yet to see the dash cam footage which shows the same damn thing! She resisted ever so slightly and he, seconds later, bounced her head off of the concrete!

Course, that was mentioned 2 or 3 times in this thread... did you read it?

Wow, I often side with police against the dangerous folks, but this officer should be in custody for abusing his position. That is sickening! Glad it was on video! Hope that officer gets his papers. We don't need police like that out there.

Asphalt. She landed on asphalt.

It tends to be a little less harder than concrete. Ie, one is better off if they run on asphalt than on concrete.

The concrete is a few feet behind the officer.

Oh, wait........maybe that's the reason why we have the cops we do now because over the decades, the others have decided that it isn't worth it.

Tamara just don't even argue with them, its not worth it. Thank god we live in a Democracy where the majority rules.
Looks like we have the minority kicking and screaming on CD yet they refuse to go out and make a change. The majority have spoken people. From what the police chief said, it looks like the Texas use of force matrix is the same as Florida. So use of force is justified.

As a democracy we have put that use of force into law. So all of you can have all the opinions you want regarding him using excessive force because we live in a democracy but according to the laws of that same democracy your opinions are wrong. Don't like it? Go change the opinions of the majority and change the laws, then I will be wrong. Until then the ones that are saying he was justified are right, plain and simple.

The majority doesn't always rule. The majority could want the return of slavery, but it wouldn't happen. The majority could want women's rights to be reverted to pre 1920's... wouldn't happen though. The majority could want a LOT of things, but it won't happen because the majority doesn't always rule.

A majority rules society is NOT what democracy is.

That's what you take issue with? The type of hard surface she was thrown on?

Concrete and asphalt are both harder than your head.

No, I take issue with people restating the situation with untruths, so others might pick up their story as what really happen.

Whatever she landed on, it clearly was not concrete or cement.

Oh, that's very true. Round Rock (and Williamson County) is not Austin. Perhaps one heard of the pot case and potential life imprisonment last year? The courts tend to be much tougher in Round Rock.
