When the world has these major catastrophes like the two right now. The Earthquake in Nepal and the volcanic eruption in Chile; how many other countries try to help out?
I'm thinking Russia never does unless they are good friends.

Putin, Zuma send condolences, Russia readies rescue team for Nepal | The BRICS Post

"Moscow is also dispatching a team of more than fifty rescue workers to Nepal to assist in the relief and rescue operations.
“More than fifty rescue workers from the Tsentrospas detachment and the Leader center are prepared for go to Nepal immediately. They have expansive experience of operations in the areas struck by earthquakes. These rescuers have helped eliminate the aftermaths of quakes in Haiti, Turkey and China,” an official at Russia’s Ministry for Emergency Situations said in Moscow.
The Russian team is armed with high-tech equipment that would enable it to work autonomously in the quake-hit Himalayan country."

Is this supposed to be a "let's point out how much better we are than every other country?" thread

As far as I know, most everyone across the globe helps out except the middle east.

Omg, the delusion, the USAid program is insanely corrupt, most of the money is skimmed off the top. I suggest to watch Vice Season03Ep07 to get a good understanding.

Interesting that you asked.
We found that about 94% of humanitarian funding went to donors' own civilian and military entities, UN agencies, international NGOs and private contractors. In addition, 36% of recovery grants went to international NGOs and private contractors.
Haiti's earthquake generated a $9bn response

Not trying to point anything out about us to them. I just never hear or see anything about other countries helping out on the news. Glad to hear they all do.
