And after the flames are put out, after the looting and the destruction is finished, the rebuild starts, the next step is going to be gentrification in that neighborhood and the next step after that will be people bitching about "all these white people moving in."

I watched one idiot run up and cut the hose, the reporter couldn't believe someone would do such a thing and I'm sure he's seen his share of stupid in his time...

This is insane. Do these people really think that looting and destroying their community is going to bring about any sort of positive change? It's only going to lead to more young people losing their lives.
As you yourself admit, teenagers are mostly the perpetrators. Teenagers are emotional beyond reason when it comes to things they care about. Whether it's right or wrong, they aren't going to base their actions on logic if they are inflamed about something, so you'd do your own mental health some good if you stopped expecting them to. I'm not saying they are right or should be allowed to run amok, but I don't have any trouble understanding why they do.

Taking selfies in the destruction and water hose cutting; it doesn't get any better than this.

Prayers to the officers who are injured.

I hope they get every single person who caused havoc and chaos with looting and setting a police car on fire along with the assaults on the police.

Huh?

I expect people of all ages to act like human beings, not savages. Part of the problem is the view such as yours, that this mayhem is to be expected.

Give me a very large break.
