Parents' fury after six-year-old pork is served to students at Tennessee schools | Daily Mail Online

Thank goodness one of the cafeteria workers decided to blow the whistle on this. And shame on the others who didn't!! Whoever is in charge of managing the school district's food supplies needs to be fired, asap. No food - frozen or not - should be around for six years.

When I was in the US Navy we were served sirloin packed in 1972. It was 1984. The whole 6th fleet got this crap. Since I knew what it was I didn't eat it but a lot of people did.

Take care of your children, don't rely on the schools.

Sounds like someone screwed up their inventory and tried to CYA at the expense of little kids. Pretty sick.

That's why you send lunch with your kids. Just don't pack Oreo's though.

I feel like the head of these school lunch programs should be certified and degreeed nutritionist and dietitians but instead its food service people that know nothing about food quality or the body and they are getting paid less than 40k to care for your children.

This is the kind of crap you get when government intervenes in school lunch programs. Way back in the day there was a certain sense of shame if you where a student that opted to eat the school lunch. It did not matter if it was free or paid for.

Now days parents are relying on schools to feed their kids breakfast and lunch, good job America.
