Let's put it this way. I have about as much influence as any of the youth leaders currently in the black community.
As far as what you could do to help:
Fight against the Drug War
Fight for legalization
Fight for sustainable investing, not handouts or situations where the businesses are owned by those outside of the community and the money flows back to the burbs or a flourishing neighborhood.
Fight for #TheMovement, and people who have influence with the youth
There's lots that needs to be done.
Keep going.... I don't see anything about personal responsibility in here. I don't see anything about role models and absent fathers. How about the demise of family values? Maybe you could have put something in there about the 72 percent of single mother births.
There are many poor families that don't have gang bangers and drug thugs in them. They are subject to the same conditions but the raise their children to be productive, educated citizens. So it is not completely about the war on drugs, lack of employment or poverty.
It's a big jump from being a poor person, to being a gun wielding killer with no respect for human life.
Let's take away their ability to own a gun, that'll stop them from killing each other!

It's sad to play politics on such a complex issue that in all honesty Republicans have some responsibility for.

I've answered that question twice in this thread already. Yes, I carry a gun so if those 'issues' become my problem, I'll solve them myself.
You want to blame everyone else for the problems of criminals. Good luck with that.
We have 25% of the WORLD's prison population. Obviously locking up everyone for anything, and heavy handed Policing has not done the job.
Maybe if people cracked a history book every now and then we wouldn't have half the problems we have now.
