The airbags have been known to explode and send shrapnel into the face and body of both the driver and front seat passenger. Victims appeared to have been shot or stabbed, according to police who responded to the accidents. Many others had serious injuries including vision damage from shrapnel hitting them in the eye.
Most of the fatalities and most of the recalled cars were made by Honda (HMC).
But dozens of different models are affected, most of which were built between 2000 and 2011. Consumers can check to see if their car is included in the recall by going to a special website created by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration at NHTSA Recalls Spotlight - Takata Air Bag Recalls.
Hmmmm, a well deserved lawsuit or two might make these folks at Takata think twice about cutting corners and not doing recalls sooner, and compensate victims to who were injured by the airbags.
Nah, anyone who sues for any reason is always a leech to the society. And his lawyer is a parasite to the leech. I guess.
Mick
P.S. Take this seriously and bring your car in ASAP if you receive a recall notice in the mail (better yet, check the website provided above). The explosives in the airbag are wicked powerful, as anyone who has experienced its deployment can attest.

Tried to use it and in typical government IT fashion, after a very long wait, got an error message saying it was overloaded. LOL
Terrible thing though. Cars now come with their own personal IEDs which might be set off just by hot humid weather. Some cars now have numerous airbags these days so you can get blasted from all sides.

Did you try the route of going to the specific Auto Makers website to see if there is a recall?
You can get there via that 2nd link I posted at the bottom of the OP
From there, click on "specific vehicle makers site" It is written in orange.
Both me and my daughter are waiting for the dealer to get the parts in to deal with this recall. It's been a few weeks now for both of us. I guess they just hope we don't get killed before the shipment comes in? I dunno.
