Maybe. I've mentioned my investor neighbor (house is now a VRBO). Our Code guy sent me a letter a few years ago with a claim that my goose decoys (in bags, stored on a platform attached to my shed in the back of the yard which cannot be seen from anywhere unless you're 5 feet away from it because a fence and shrubs block the view) citing them as clutter.

He said that there was no complaint but he had seen them from the street. I did call him a liar since he enclosed pictures which could only have been taken by someone on a ladder shooting over the fence and shrubs.

The cop may have said that so the kids' parents wouldn't have gone medieval on whomever complained. In a small town the complainer is usually well known.

An example from last night:

We had our monthly Movie on the Beach last night. We got a call from a nearby resident complaining about the loudness of the speakers. The thing was, we didn't have the sound system even on yet when the call came in.

You completely missed the point of my statement. The government should not be blamed when we have a listeria outbreak. Or salmonella outbreak, or anything else that is the fault of the business owner. Instead, we blame the government, especially government workers, demand more "government accountability" with stricter laws that remove any discretion on the part of government workers, and the company gets off with no repercussions. (And, as above, we complaining asking why the government has not out these companies out of business. That's the public's job!)
