As we appear to be in the same generation, you must know now that we should be careful not to judge as we never know what is ahead of that will have us eating our words. Kinda like the mother who judges other parents and says My Child Will Never Do That (insert topic), only later she learns her child not only does it, but is the worst offender.

Again, I was never a Palin fan, but I cannot understand why most people here aren't showing empathy rather than the vicious judgment being thrown around. In my earlier post I stated I felt that by speaking on abstinence she was trying to save other young women from ending up pregnant like she was as young woman. What is wrong with her trying to have other's not go thru what she did?? You cannot assume she was simply making this up I never saw that she was seated in judgment of others...not sure how you get this from her talks. As for her stating she wouldn't have sex until marriage, she was engaged, and a week (or day) away from being married. She had sex with her fiancé....oh, how shameful, and how unusual is this

Perhaps she wants privacy because separate from the pregnancy, there are other dynamics at play that she cannot speak about.
