Easy to figure out. Every WEEK 300-400 thousand NEW people sign up for unemployment. In a good MONTH 200,000 new jobs are created. Explain to me how unemployment rate goes down.

The unemployment rate is down because more people have finally accepted the point that the artificial advantage to which Americans had become accustomed is gone for good. That is a point that libertarians and conservatives have been emphasizing for years, but the RINOs don't have the guts to admit it, and the Democrats don't have any strategy other than to beat the worn-out drums of class warfare and "income redistribution". And the real riffraff -- Sharpton, Kucinich, Dean, Sanders, and their simple-minded following -- just get more vicious every day.

When the other shoe drops, Mr. Obama should have some real explaining to do; but we all know who he and his Chicago gangsta cronies will try to blame.

We're doing so well we need to let several more million illegals cross the border to take the excess jobs.

I wonder what the Black unemployment rate really is and if that Obama lady ever got her free gas.

that could be because of where you live. Actually while the number of SSDI applications surged in 2010, the number of applicants approved has not grown much and last year the number of applications approved fell to around 35%. One of the problems is that many people in blue collar or low skilled jobs can no longer take an early retirement from their employer because if they have any retirement at all it's a 401k, so if they become disabled they are more reliant on SSDI than workers were 20 or 30 years ago when there were more people covered by defined benefit pensions and disability retirement plans.

More seasonal and low paying jobs with more workers making section 8 housing and food stamps, I do give them credit for working at least. How about we lower taxes on the middle class and upper middle class, the super rich and super poor are destroying America.

You don't have to blame the government for the economic situation (although I don't know who else would be responsible.) But you certainly can hold them responsible for their deceptive statistics. Should insult everyone with a high school education.

10 million created. How many lost? They are telling us 350,000 a WEEK. You are in the negative territory actually.

It is that low because they use the U-3 stats. The U-6 stats are about 11%. The U-6 are what I consider to be official.
