However, the participation rate is at an extremely low rate.

It's a little like a family not paying their credit card bills any more and patting themselves on the back for the extra money in their bank account.

Edit: Here it is:

http://cnsnews.com/news/article/ali-...e-declines-626

Quote:
A record 93,626,000 Americans 16 or older did not participate in the nation’s labor force in June, as the labor force participation rate dropped to 62.6 percent, a 38-year low, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
BTW, I don't blame Obama for this, I blame big government for this.

Obama Economy is now officially worse than the Jimmy Carter economy of 1977. And Carter had to deal with oil shortages.

I'm not sure why anyone would Thank Obama for that.

Labor participation will never rise again. Unless we go WPA, which maybe we should since infrastructure needs a major upgrade in most parts of the country.

How to get the unemployment rate to 5.3%. Easy- just stop counting unemployed people as being unemployed. An additional 432,000 people were dropped from the count last week. 93 million people are not working bringing the labor participation to the lowest [62%] since 1977
How many more people have to be in the 'no longer counted' to get the unemployment rate to 4.7%
More people filed for unemployment benefits last week [281,000] than jobs created [223,000] for the whole month of June.
