The look on the pope's face.... definitely a "wtf" moment.

What does this communist crucifix represent?

It really doesn't matter what it represents to Morales; it matters even less that he gives a lame, abviously false excuse it was designed in the 80's. It matters far more that in this day and age, what it's oppressive representation has meant to billions of the world's population for the last 9 decades or more.

The Pope has been played and he will be unhappy for that cheap opportunity taken by the leader of a country that the Pope, with the best of intentions, is attempting to showcase to the rest of the world.

Morales is a putz who was undoubtedly told by anyone he has near him that this would not be a good thing to do, but cheap opportunist that he is.........

These leaders all seem to follow the same stupid playbook and go for the 'short term' rather than take the longer, more difficult road to actually benefit their people.

Evo Morales does not strike me as very bright. Seems to be a bit of a bafoon.
I just think the symbolism behind this is a disgrace. Especially since the pope was trying to showcase Bolivia in a positive light..

That's like giving a vampire a sharp, wooden stake...

Oh, I have no doubt that there are plenty of people who are thrilled that the pope apparently isn't praying any longer for the "conversion of the communists."
