Straight men hate gay men because gay men threaten their masculinity. Straight women on the other hand don't have a problem with Lesbians. In our patriarchal society, men are raised to believe that they need to be masculine.

I agree. I've always observed men become much more defensive around gay men. Lots of stupid, unfunny jokes. Near fear of a gay man. Often outright asserting their masculinity. But I rarely if ever see women react the same way to a lesbian woman. Women just don't care about homosexuality, from what I observe, the way men do. It's odd (the men - not the women's reaction).

You've been given equal rights to marry...run along and become a part of normal American society instead of trying to brand everyone that is ignorant of your sexual preference/lifestyle as repressed. I agree. Assuming someone to be 'homophobic' if they dont agree with homosexuality to me is like assuming fear or a latent desire to be male/female a if you dont happen to prefer heterosexual intimacy. Life isnt quite that simple nor are complex humans that easy to figure out.

People who are comfortable with their own sexuality couldn't care less what other consenting adults do.
