WONDERFUL thread! Thanks Mr Geek, and all who are contributing! There certainly is goodness and beauty in our world....but too much mainstream media and CD threads can take our eyes off that.

This from today in Houston

Bus driver saves man from fire (bus driver is in the hospital, but hopefully will be ok)

METRO bus driver burned while saving man from house fire

Quote:
A woman who lives near the mobile home said she and her family were asleep and did not hear a thing until the victim started pounding on their door.

"He knocked two times. He knocked really hard," said Janna Pineda, a neighbor.

She said the victim had a bump on his head and burns on his stomach area. She said the situation is made sadder by the fact the man's mother recently died.

Officials say the victim remains at Memorial Hermann Hospital and has burns on 50 percent of his body. Nelson had burns on his hands and neck and says he wouldn't hesitate to help again.

"I just did what I think everyone else would do -- or should do -- that's it."

Nelson says he's not a hero, but Metro and the fire department think he is. Officials from both departments are planning ceremonies to honor him.

Random angel appeared out of nowhere today.
So a lady comes in to rent a U Haul trailer. I am new to the job but act like i know what I.m doing. So we have to pull AND lift the trailer at the same time. And it.s heavy. A random stranger a large tall man pulls up ( mind you we are at the back of the lot far off the street barely visible) and asks if we need help! I wanna thank you, whoever you are !! xxoo

Kentucky Cop Consoles Grieving Driver After Sister's Death : People.com

"All we knew from the dispatch call was that there was a woman who was crying and needed help in her car. She opened the door for us when we approached, and I could see she was visibly upset," he tells PEOPLE. "She let us know that her sister had passed away."

Nissen spent over an hour with Henderson in the car, calming her down and making arrangements for a nearby family member to pick her up.

"I wanted her treated the way I would want my family to be treated if they needed help," he said.

"The initiative of three Rome boys who wanted to help the police and their community led to happy endings in two cases where young children went missing.
Preteens Marco Hernandez, his older brother David Hernandez and their friend Jaylin Harris were responsible for locating the lost kids — a 4-year-old boy and a 6-year-old girl — in the span of about four weeks.

Thanks for the posts everyone. Love to see some participation.

This one is just an interesting, cool story more than good news. These are some great photographs that were uncovered recently.
