Now his family mourns.

To me, the line has been drawn in the sand, and it is drawn along the lines of alcohol. Move the line once, and we'll be moving it again.
Potheads know this. That's why they promote pot by calling it "medical marijuana".

I work in health care, btw.
It's a bait and switch. Potheads say they want it for medicinal use.
That's nonsense. They want to smoke pot, that's all.

You want medicine? Go see a doctor.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not recognized or approved the marijuana plant as medicine. However, scientific study of the chemicals in marijuana, called cannabinoids, has led to two FDA-approved medications that contain cannabinoid chemicals in pill form. Continued research may lead to more medications.

I get that marijuana is probably one of the "safest" drugs one could take. I get that for most people, it has no negative effects and does not make people violent. But there are people who definitively argue that marijuana is in no way bad for you. Stories like these prove it can be.
A five week old? Sleep deprivation can, and does, kill.

It may be nonsense to you, but I must assume it's because you haven't done any research. I don't want it for medical purposes, I myself do want it for recreational use, so what? I'm a responsible adult with a well-paying job and a college degree, so what is your point?

Just because I want to be able to be left alone in my own home doesn't mean it's a scam when I fight for easier medical marijuana laws in NJ though for those who need it for that reason; I have no plans to apply for medical mj and it IS legal here. It is far, far better though than most of the drugs you get from a doctor with many less side effects for many, many ailments. I worked home care for one of the largest hospital systems in south Jersey and even they had a rep from a medical marijuana dispensary to educate the nurses, therapists and doctors on what it is being used for and what patients may benefit. Get with the times, do a little research and stop letting fear cloud your judgement.

Meh, its still far safer then alcohol, and the cost of the war on drugs was far more damaging. I am amazed people dont understand this.

Do your research. Statements like this make prohibitionists come off as even more ignorant and a relic of the soon to be past.

Wanna get high? Go see a doctor, say your back hurts, get some addictive, deadly opioids.

See how that works?

heh heh....Tell the Potheads that their push for medical marijuana is a bait and switch scam and they get all excited, don"t they?

But that's what it is. Read their posts. They tell you (A) it's for the children and then (B) that they just want to smoke it in their own home. Better than "a lot of other things", they say. "The children" are suddenly forgotten.
Then, of course, they always tell you that if you are opposed to marijuana use it is because you haven't "done research" or you are behind the times. They are the only ones with true information, it seems.

Sorry, Potheads. The truth is out. Potheads make poor parents and poor workers.

Pot promoters talk about children the same way gambling casino promoters do. It is always to "benefit the children", who will "suffer" without it.
Nonsense.

In CO or globally? Globally, 1000s. In CO 100 would be a stretch.

She left the baby on the top of her car because she was high. If she was so sleep deprived, then why did she decide to go to her boyfriend's or friend's house to smoke more weed? Shouldn't she have been home sleeping if the issue was sleep deprivation? She had smoked at home, smoked more at the house she went to, with the baby (responsible ), then because she was high, since marjiuana does affect your brain while you're high on it, like anything else, she placed the car seat on top of the car and drove off, forgetting to remove it and place the baby in the car. Kind of like when people place their coffee on top of their car as they're getting in they forget it and drive away. Except this was much worse because it was her baby.
