The violence perpetrated in the name of fundamentalist islam AND fundamentalist xtianity is horrendous and deserves condemnation.

Right wing conservative xtian terrorists and islamist jihadist terrorists are both terrorists. Duh.

Quran repeatedly commands that Muhammad is the perfect example for Muslims to follow for ALL times.

The problem is; Muhammad had sex with a 9 year old child (Aisha) when he was 54, lusted over then married his own step-son's wife (Zaynab), had 11 wives at any given time, and countless sex slaves that he seized through violent jihad.

Muhammad beheaded men, raped women, and tortured his critics to death. His companions were offered female captives as war booty (spoils of war) if they lived through the jihad and promised 72 virgins in paradise if they died. Not a single muslim majority country today, gives 'equal rights' to its non-muslim citizens.

Islam in the most simple terms offers three options to Infidels;
(1) pay the extortion fees (jizya) and live as a subjugated citizen under the shadow of the sword
(2) convert to Islam
(3) die/fight

The Islamic world was actually relatively peaceful between the 1300's and 1800's, yes. The exact period where the Christians in Western Europe were ripping each other apart.

History, Folks. You have to read it to understand.

The Crusades were a defensive response to Muslim aggression against Christians and Jews which began shortly after the prophet Mohammed died. He called for this war and they were following his bidding.

By the time Europe and the Pope got involved the Muslims had conquered two-thirds of the existing world of Christianity in the East. And it wasn't done with kindness, but rather with slaughter.

In other words, like the kindergarteners say, "They started it."

Guess some of you think this all started with Republicans. Heh.

I have no problem if posters bash events in the Muslim world.
As long as they also bash events in the Christian religion.
You know, sort of throwing the first stone thing.

Every Muslim country today was a former; Buddhist, Zoroastrian, Hindu, Christian, Pagan, Jewish,....civilization. The Arabs burst out of Arabia to conquer and pillage.

The people of the Eastern part of the world were murdered, raped, tortured and forced to convert to Islam.

Its only after the European colonialist came that my people saw a shimmer of hope, even though till today Non-Muslims do not have 'equal rights' in Muslim majority countries. The concept of 'equal rights' is in Western countries only and a few select countries like India, etc.

No need to whitewash our history.

Really you're bringing up rape and cultural appropriation like Christians are any different?

Every country in North and South America was a former; spiritualist, syncretism, mythology-based, civilization with thousands of years of traditions and unique value systems and beliefs. Christians floated across waters to claim land that wasn't theirs and to conquer, and convert people who weren't prepared.

Early European explorers describe individual Native American tribes and even small bands as each having their own religious practices that they considered savage.

Pope Francis just offered a direct apology on for the complicity of the Catholic Church in the oppression of Latin America during the colonial era. Francis said. “I say this to you with regret: Many grave sins were committed against the native people of America in the name of God.”

This has happened time and time again throughout history but Christians do white-wash our history and leave and brush over integral wrongdoings and shortcomings.

I am not a Christian or an apologist for Christianity.

The persecution of Christianity has ended for the most part, we cannot say the same about Islam. Can't even compare the two in current times.

This is a beheading of a woman in the holiest city of Saudi Arabia; Mecca. Imagine the outcry if people were beheaded in the Vatican square in 2015.
