Eek. The last time the Windows 10 install shut off the computer (it does this several times during installation), it never came back on.

Panic.

Then I took out the battery (it was a laptop), held the on button down for 2 minutes. Reinstalled battery.

All is right with the world.

Windows 10 Automatic Updates Start Causing Problems

Windows is such garbage. It would really be nice if Linux was popular. Oh, I forgot--it works. That means it won't be popular because only stupid crap that doesn't work half the time is popular. Putting out a new version of something that wasn't great but tolerable--and the new version sucks and breaks things. Sounds like Windows.

Rant over.

I forgot today was the day until I saw this thread. It hasn't started. The little icon says it's still "validating" my PC.

ugh! Thanks for the heads-up, OP. I need to replace a dead Mac, so I was leaning toward a more affordable PC, but.....maybe not.

Unfortunately, on my desk top the icon disappeared a couple of weeks ago.

I'm an orphan!

Windows 10 is going to make billions for Microsoft. The problems that you hear about aren't much about anything, every time there is a version upgrade you hear this stuff. It really sucks for the person that is happens to but in the end, everything goes back to them making money and everyone else jumping in to see what they can get too.

I downloaded and installed windows 10 today and have already rolled back to windows 7. It was really easy to rollback which is the best thing I can say about windows 10. After I installed it the computer locked up constantly. Windows 10 didn't work on my computer.

I will jump through hoops and even do a little dance if it meant I could game on linux. Problem is, even with said hoops not all games will work, so I am stuck in the window looking out and thinking what might have been.

Side note, as an nvidia user (the cards that the updates are throwing a fit with,) microshaft can kiss my rear end if they think I am going to download 10 yet until these issues are completely resolved.
