An immensely popular lion known as Cecil was killed recently outside of Zimbabwe’s Hwange National Park, and authorities are trying to find the hunter said to have lured the animal beyond park boundaries before shooting him with a crossbow.
Fueling the anger is that Cecil did not die immediately. The wounded lion was tracked for nearly two days after it was shot, and ultimately dispatched with a rifle.
He is disgusting, just look at how proud he is to have killed these beautiful animals. And how is it hunting when they lure these poor creatures in with meat tied to a tree right in shooting distance.
Those types of attacks have been occurring for decades unfortuately and one can only condemm an activity for so long. It does not take away from this story at all no matter how you try to make that case. There were also people killed in the United States the same day as the lion does not making the killing of this lion any less of a story or any less of a reason for an outrage. Outrages are often "saved" for when the most vulnerable are the victims which explains why abusing kittens and puppies or babies is bigger news than murdering an adult.
That was a very beautiful lion he killed. He had to have known that a mature, healthy male lion with Cecil's physique would have been important link to it's pride (with cubs, females, etc.). But he just killed it for no reason except he could. He couldn't have spent his life preserving and helping... he has to kill the majestic.
Why do we always have such blowhards like this in this world. These type of stories just shows that there's nothing sacred in this world and there's plenty of Palmer's out there to destroy it.
But, the good thing is, no matter how many supporters there are of Walter James Palmer, his name, once googled, will show Cecil in all his beauty, with a caption that he was butchered by a POS that is Walter James Palmer.

If one report I read is accurate, they tied meat to a car and dragged it though the preserve, luring the animal outside the safe area, and then attempted to kill it. It was an enormous display of hunting skill and daring.
I propose we take Mr. Palmer back to Africa, stuff his pockets with fresh hamburger, and let him make a run for it. Isn't that about the same chance he gave this lion?
Fair, is fair.
(Hard to believe in this day and age will still have a$$holes running around the world pretending to be big game hunters when the animals are literally dropped at their feet and all they have to do is pull the trigger/shoot the arrow as in this case).
No doubt, he and other trophy hunters are revolting scum. But fact is, the primary danger to these animals is poaching. Huge demand for animal parts and ivory in china and other countries, plus corrupt African government officials being bribed = lots of dead endangered animals. It would be great if this incident would be a catalyst to put lots of pressure on the countries which finance/allow the poaching.
